Dear readers!

This month's topic is going to be simple.
It's November, we're getting closer to winter in Europe, last week, there has already been a bit of snow in my town.

So this time, the topic will be

                          “Frost”

In part one of my monthly journals, I'm going to present you 10 beautiful pictures this time.

Starting with “Cold”

by DavidVogt

Cold by DavidVogt

The name of the photo is actually very befitting, seeing, how it actually kind of manages to catch the essence of winter: An untouched field of snow; straighter lines then any other season shows us; a clear, cool blue sky and in the midst of it all an avenue, seamed by frosty, bald trees.

The picture is somehow modest, yet beautiful. Just the way winter itself is, as it takes all the colour and shapes out of nature and yet shows as a matchless beauty, that lies beneath all those natural trinkets.

The second piece is called “Cold Morning”
by Sergey-Averkin

Cold Morning by Sergey-Averkin

It's a beautiful digital painting, that shows us a thief or hunter in warm medieval-fashioned cloth.

The bleak nature and the fog around him indeed create a feeling of the chillier season and a waking day. Altogether it's an amazing piece of art and you'll find more of this kind in his gallery.

Number 3 is a picture called "I don't want"
by Delariz

I don't want by Delariz

It shows a cute little doggy, who looks like he is either sticking out his tongue or catching a snowflake with it.
The pic is a wonderful, livid snapshot. The scarf around the dogs neck as well as the snow all around and behind him shows us, it's definitely wintertime.
The expression and movement of the dog in the center against the blurred background makes it look so alive and many more similary beautiful pictures with dogs can be found in the artists amazing gallery!

The fourth picture was named

"Consumption of Father Frost" by MistaBobby

Consumption of Father Frost by MistaBobby

This digital painting kinda brings winter to it's point in a very imaginative way. The dying nature as an image of Father Frost, on who's remnants the living animals are feasting in order to survive. The cycle of life is completed here. The one that dies is picked up by the ones that will live and carried on.
Father Frost, in the dying part wears a skull-like face and bleeds from a Jesus-on-the-cross-like wound on his hand, that may or may not show the sacrifice he's making.
Also the snow-covered winter sun behind his head looks somewhat alike a halo. Maybe the artist tries to show us, what a saint nature actually is, in this beautiful picture, that encourages the viewer to think about deeper meanings.
More pictures like this can be found in the artist's a little dark gallery.

Halfway through the pictures I want to present you

FearlessFibreArts 's "Simple Rainbow Dragon Gloves"

Simple Rainbow Dragon Gloves by FearlessFibreArts

So, something warm and colourful for a change, because I wouldn't want you to suffer from either frost-bite or snow-blindness through my journal. ;)
This artist's carefully crocheted gloves are the perfect piece to keep your temperature up between all these rather frosty pieces.
I'm actually capable of crocheting, myself, so I can tell, this was made by a true expert. The three different, filigree patterns match together wonderfully and I can imagine it took a lot of skill, time and patience, to make two almost identical (minor variations in colour counted) pieces and such beautiful ones at that.
I'm really amazed by this, the top pattern around the fingers truely look like dragon scales. So my absolute kudos to the artist Kathleen Gillen, for being able to make such wonderful handmade things.
Take a look at her gallery (or even her shop), because she got many more colourful variations and other beautiful handmade things for you to see there!

The second half is going to start with

"The magic of the Moment" by itsMillzie

The magic of the moment by itsMillzie

This wonderful piece is a traditional painting by the artist itsMillzie . I really adore the delicate branches and stalks of grass, that peek out of the snowy, frosty scenery; the many shades of blue and the flowing colours of the sky that can be found in it.
I'm no one to judge, but to me, it feels, like standing on the brim of a snow-covered field on an early winter morning.
I spent so many of those mornings on an actual field on an actual winter morning, when I walked my dog (or watched him chasing snowflakes), that I really know what it feels and looks like - and even though, this one is clearly a painting with it's beautiful style, the resemblance is breathtaking. I can basically feel the cold creeping inside my shoes and sleeves, tickling my toes and fingers inside, when I look at it.
It's the perfect piece to look at and search for all of the small details, while sipping at a hot cup of tea.

Number 7 of the works I want to show you is

"Ice Heart" that was made by im-sad

Ice Heart by im-sad

Unfortunately, the artist made no bigger size then this one available for this beautiful photograph of a handcarved heart of actual ice.
While the fact, that this was actually made of ice is amazing on it's own, the reflections and the blue filters or light may also give you a frosty shiver while looking at this picture. Maybe a very delightful shot to check out again in summer. ;)
Many other beautiful photographies, but also some drawings and paintings await you in the gallery of this artist.

Another piece I wanted to show you is
"Depth" by DestinyBlue

Depth by DestinyBlue

And deep is what you could call the potential meaning behind this picture, indeed.
It's a beautiful image, the glowing heart of ice has so many intense colours and shades, it's just amazing.
Also, the two persons, who are actually connected by heart underneath the surface, but each of them standing all alone on their tiny floe of ice, surrounded by the sea, probably unable to see their deep connection or to reach out to each other - it's so awesomely symbolic.
If you like pictures with glowing colour, you should go and look at this artist's gallery. They have quite a bunch of them in store.

Closer to the end of this month's first journal, I want to show you
a second picture with the title: "Cold", but this time
by the artist RS--Design

Cold by RS--Design

This one is another beautiful photo in intense winter colours.
The ice-crystal like structure inside the eye itself it just as fascinating as the lashes surrounding it.
It musst have been some work, to get each lash to look as frosty as they do and I'm really amazed by the model being capable of holding still with the snow- or ice-like texture so close to their eye. I'm sure, I would have been rubbing my eyes like crazy, if I tried that. All in all it's a beautiful idea and I'm amazed by how natural it still looks, despite the cool colours and the unusual setting. Also the way in which colour filters were used on this work shows amazing talent and taste. So you may want to check out this artist's gallery for more like this.

⸝~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~⸜

The last pic I'm going to show you in this journal is called
"Mountain Stream" by pepperin

This is another beautiful traditional painting. While the scenery looks more like spring or summer, the colours that were used are definitely cold ones. The variety of them is simply amazing, as are all the small details.
The style of the shapes and patterns, that can be found in this picture as well as the different layers (grass, leaves, flowers, bush, floor, forest, mountains) remind me of folklore art and paintings, but this one looks much fresher and juvenile.
This is why it is one of my favourite pictures in this journal and the good thing is, the artist has quite a number of similar styled paintings in their gallery.
So go on and check them out as well, if you liked this one!

Thank you so much for the amazing feature on my gloves. It was such a lovely surprise to come home to after a surprise stay in hospital, so thank you so much for making my day.
